- July 2016
Our lovely black Labrador, Jet, very sadly passed away in July 2016 after a long battle with cancer. His departure has left a huge hole in our lives and his contribution to our family was immeasurable. We therefore want to raise as much money as we can for the Animal Cancer Trust in Jet’s memory. The Animal Cancer Trust is a registered charity totally committed to funding the fight against cancer in our pets. www.animalcancertrust.co.uk We plan to walk just over 100km from Esher Rugby Club via the River Thames and Wey footpaths and along the Downs Link ending up at Brighton Pier……a non-stop journey through the night of around 30 hours. We will be joined for all or part of the walk by some of our very good friends. It will be arduous and challenging but ultimately rewarding and a huge tribute to Jet. Thank you for supporting us all With much love Richard, Jacqueline and Reece (AKA the West family)

Beautiful Tessa, loved by everyone who met her. Rescued from a dustbin aged 4 weeks, loved for almost 12 years. A dog in a million, much missed.
Type of Cancer:
Tess was taken to be spayed 2009. Last September she became ill, surgery proved the original vet had not spayed her at all, simply sterilized her and she had pyometra. In late December she developed mammary tumours which broke through the skin.

"Our Ruby" such a little character, a great friend and wonderful company. We miss you so much but treasure the time you spent with us. So many great memories, everyday was a pleasure to be with you. David, Andrea, Kate and Claire.
18/03/2007 - 24/09/2018
Our beautiful blue eyed Penny, we adopted you and your sister Purdy from the Mayhew just four years ago, and hoped for many years with you both. So gutted when cancer was diagnosed in late July, you will always be in our hearts brave girl.
Type of Cancer:
Urethra cancer, in the neck of the urethra.
2007 - 2009
Oscar - our beautiful golden boy. Rescued at seven months, brought to a home that really loved and cared for him. A true Mummy's boy. Oscar had such a great personality, he was a real character and loved by all who met him. Sadly just before his 2nd birthday he was diagnosed with lymphoma. We were completely devastated. After bravely battling for 3 months he sadly lost his fight. Still a puppy in every sense of the word. Oscar loved life with such gusto, walks, treats, home comforts, but above all he loved his family. Our loss is immense. How we will cope without this beautiful boy, the heart and soul of the family, is beyond us. Cruelly robbed from us at 2 years old. Safe now in God's care. Until we meet again precious, precious boy.
My previous goldi, J, is listed above and still missed.
Cocker Spaniel (working)
1996 - 2008
My Rufus - dearest friend, first dog of my own. Licked me all the way home when I collected him aged 9 weeks.
Always by my side, fun & laughter, happy times, happy years.
Saw me through hard days when I was diagnosed with cancer myself; cheered me up by getting me up for his walks. Wiped up my tears with his ears when times got hard.
I got better thanks to my Rufus. Sadly he died aged 12yrs with prostrate cancer. Still talk to you Rue always my little guy with the BIG HEART.
We had only known Fudge for 4 years. We rehomed him as he was a stray. But we have had 4 wonderful years with him. Fudge was about 11 years old (or so) we think. He was so loveable and the most gentle dog you can ever have. When I or anyone was ill Fudge would come a lie down by the side of you and give you lots of cuddles. He made us very happy. He used to love going for walks and the kids loved him. We will never forget Fudge and he will always be with us.
2004 - 2008
Warm, affectionate, friendly, intelligent - sometimes mischievous. Above all a beautiful being. He was not afraid to stand up to nasty dogs though he was a compact size. A sweet and very lovely companion, friend and ally. Irreplaceable and forever cherished. A small Labrador with a big heart and personality. A little beauty. Keep walking alongside us. Hope you are safe, not in pain but still with us.
We are still with you and will always be...
Our young Alex.
In October 2005 we arranged a Fun Day & Sponsored Stay in aid of the Animal Cancer Trust. During preparations for this at the end of August, the meaning of this fun day took a personal turn when my own Black and Gold rescued German Shepherd, Ben, was diagnosed with bone cancer. After 3 months of treatment including chemotherapy, it was decided that the best option would be to amputate the leg. During Ben's lifetime, he triumphed over too many behavioural and health problems to list and, for a long time, it seemed he would too beat this final illness. Ben appeared in the local paper on numerous occasions, demonstrated at 'Discover Dogs' and 'Crufts' and in 2006 was on national TV, proving there is life after losing a limb and living with the big 'C'. However, more than this, he was my loved and cherished companion. Ben lived life to the full and was my 'one in a lifetime'. He is irreplaceable and will always be with me. It is a privilege to have lived with Ben and I have everything to thank him for including the life he has given me. Ben was a clown and a showman and was simply the best, and for this reason K9 K-OS & BARK-RITE Dog Club and Dog Display team will work to raise money for the Animal Cancer Trust so that one day we may be able to eradicate this evil disease once and for all, so that I may not have lost my beloved boy in vain.
English Springer Spaniel
1996 - 2007
Jake was a beautiful little boy, with a wonderful loving personality and he was 6 weeks old when he became a member of our family. Jake loved his walks, his toys and most of all he loved reflections! He would happily chase a reflection or shadow for hours! Jake was always full of energy and was always ready for some more tummy tickle, however much was never enough. In May 2007 after 11 wonderful years, Jake's life was tragically cut short by Haemangiosarcoma. Our family lost a precious member and a large void was left in his place. I hope that the Animal Cancer Trust can help others who have battled this terrible disease.
1996 - 2007
Here is a photo of my beloved Goldi 'J'. J came to me as a rescue when he was 6 years old. I couldn't believe that someone could rehome this gorgeous golden boy, but their loss very quickly became my very grateful gain. I was so very fortunate to love and be loved by this gentle loving boy. In the 4 short years of being his Mum he made my heart so big. I was so very proud of him. J loved me in a way that made every day very special. Sadly J lost his short battle with cancer leaving me completely devastated to say the least. I found this charity through a friend and felt I had to help in some way and hope that many others can help too as we need to find a cure for this terrible disease that robs us of our loved ones. If you are reading please try and help as it means that it has probably touched you in some way and we need to protect our pets and loved ones.
Bruno Boxer cross
2001 - 2007
My beautiful Bruno. You were perfect in every way, even your crooked teeth. Since you have been gone the kitchen floor is always dry as you are not there to blow bubbles and dribble while you wait for your sausage and Sunday meat. The house is so quiet. We've lost our guard dog. When someone knocks on the door, there is no barking, warning them not to mess with your family, no one to sit on visitors' feet, making sure they don't move. You were a cheeky monkey at times and you knew you were, sitting on the sofa and laying across mummy and daddy's pillows on their bed when everyone was out. You were so hard to tell off though because you were such a handsome boy with big brown eyes. Mummy misses taking you out for your morning walks, seeing you get so excited when she said 'walkies', seeing you wag your tail and wiggle your bum so much that you couldn't move. Daddy has no one to give him cuddles in bed in the mornings and he misses you rolling around on the floor while he tickled your tummy. Sarah misses you running to the door to greet her when you heard her car pull up in the drive. Helen misses playing with you. Me and Mark miss our best friend; life won't ever be the same without you. We all miss you so much, from your love, kisses and cuddles to your cheesy smelling feet when you were tired. I'm so sorry we couldn't make you better, you were so strong and brave. This isn't goodbye because we will see you again one day. We all miss and love you so much puppy. All our love, cuddles and kisses are sent to you every day:

Harvey was the "baby" of the family, and was doted on both by us and his doggie parents, Lucy and Morgan. He was full of fun and inspired us all with his energy and enthusiasm. He epitomised the "merry cocker spaniel" and was a joyful addition to our home. One of his favourite past-times was running to the letter box for the daily post. If we didn't get there quickly enough, he would then spend a happy five minutes shredding the post into bits - a perfect solution for junk mail! His father Morgan still upholds this tradition, but has more of a penchant for burying the post in the garden rather than destroying it. Harvey would have been very well suited for a career as a sniffer dog, having an amazing ability to track any lost treats or doggie toys on our daily walks.
Sadly his life was cut cruelly short following his brave battle with cancer. We miss him dreadfully, but he has left us with so many happy memories to cherish.
Thank you Harvey - you were a real treasure.

I love & miss you Bailey. Lots of Love from mum Gemma.
(Bailey passed away from a tumour in her stomach)
I adopted Freda in September knowing that she had cancer and that I would be giving end of life care. I just wanted to share with everyone what a lovely, sweet natured girl she was and I loved every minute that we spent together. She taught me a lot about being kind and patient, and it is so hard saying goodbye. I have a little old lady cat shaped hole in my life. Love you Freda......run free my special girl. xxxx
Millie Princess Our baby girl, fought such a brave fight for 8 months. The sweetest cat anyone could wish for even with her madam moments. We miss you dearly every day Thank you for making our lives magical. Love Mum, Kerry, Gemma, Bitsy and Benji x
