The Tish Perry Memorial Inhand Charity Show

The Tish Perry Memorial In hand Charity Show was held on the 28th May 2016 at Morton Showing Society Show Field. The show aimed to raise awareness and money for the Animal Cancer Trust in memory of Tish Perry, who was sadly put to sleep at a age of 14 due to cancer. The turnout was fantastic and the field was packed full, so many different breeds of horses and ponies attended the show! There was a raffle which had great prizes such as hay net holder, wheel barrow, hair and skincare hamper, show products and much more! click to read more....

Plan to ACT smart and visit Animal Cancer Trust at Congress

This will be our debut at BSAVA from 7-10 April 2016 in the ICC – Stand 2 Foyer Hall 3 Dr Vicki Adams, a former trustee of the charity, says “I am very excited to be at BSAVA this year in my role as the acting chief executive.” Our goal is to be the first port of call for pet owners to find information and support as soon as the word cancer is mentioned. The recently re-launched ACT website will be running live for demonstration and we will also have copies of our new leaflets.

Even though the event had to be cancelled on the second day as the weather was against us, we met some lovely people who were interested in the charity. thank you for your donations and interest. We are looking forward to attending the next All About Dogs Brentwood in Essex and are hoping for better weather for the early May bank holiday weekend.

ACT Talks in the ‘Practical’ Zone in the Barclay Card Arena (NIA) by acting chief executive Vicki Adams: 1) Fighting cancer in our pets: The importance of early and accurate diagnosis - Friday 08 April 2016 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm Cancer is common in small animal practice; early and accurate diagnosis allows appropriate treatment planning and is essential for survival. 2) Together we can make a difference: Decisions from treatment to end of life – Saturday 09 April 2016 from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm Caring for owners and their pets with cancer is demanding and rewarding, and requires informed decision making amongst all involved.
